What is it that saves televangelists from being arrested for fraud?
Below is a link to a recent John Oliver bit about televangelists. It’s worth thinking about televangelism as a business, and evaluating the behaviour of televangelists in terms of business ethics. Oliver mentions particular televangelists who ask viewers to send money, and who promise in return that, for example, cancer will be cured, or that God will wipe out your credit card debts. Is it only the fact that this is an instance of religious practice prevent these guys from being arrested for fraud? >>>
