How often do you hear “public relations” and “ethics” in the same sentence? Well, here’s your chance. The world’s largest PR firm, Edelman, has announced that it will cease, on ethical grounds, working for coal producers and climate change deniers. The company has apparently concluded that such work is just too risky to its own reputation. Interestingly, while coal is out, oil and gas are still in. Is that an arbitrary distinction? And is this ethics, or just good PR? >>>

Edelman said it believes such clients pose a threat to the company’s legitimacy and its bottom line…..
